Stockholm Östra Refurbishment

The project has enabled increased capacity on the line and greater flexibility in the train yard. It has also provided a modern and accessible entrance area with upgraded power supply.

SYSTRA investigated and inventoried solutions to make the increased capacity possible. The subsequent design included a new rail yard geometry, raising several tracks, a new covered platform, upgrading of the power supply, switching to inductive alternating warming, new low-voltage interlocking and auxiliary power units, new lighting, switching to fiber for all communications and a new modern speaker system. SYSTRA also had responsibility for the work undertaken by subconsultants on geotechnical engineering, construction, VVS, VA, landscape and environment.
