ATC – Kryssingsbarriere
SYSTRA was commissioned as subconsultant to Jernbaneverket to design ATC – Kryssingsbarriere at several Norwegian stations, in cooperation with several partners. 5 of 10 stations on the route between Bergen and Voss were in scope, at which the ATC – Kryssingsbarriere technology was either upgraded or newly introduced. The total project included 10 stations.
The “ATC – Kryssingsbarriere” system prevents trains that have exchanged passengers from leaving a station when the exit signal is set to stop. It minimizes the risk of collision in the case that the train misses the signal and instead rejoins the main track at the same time that a second train is also present on the main track.
SYSTRA tasks included design, preparation of detailed design, preparation of operation documents and updating existing documentation.
