Åmsele, New Passing Station

SYSTRA was commissioned as a technical consultant to produce the documents necessary to lengthen the Åmsele passing station, enabling passing clearance between trains.

In the daytime, there were previously no opportunities for passing clearance between trains on the route between Hällnäs - Lycksele. The distance is about 60km and takes about 70 minutes by regional train. The planned changes in Åmsele will enable this passing clearance for trains up to 630 m long, which will increase capacity on the 7km long Hällnäs - Lyckesele - Storuman stretch.

SYSTRA are responsible, together with subconsultants, for the planning process including the subsequent design. This involved consultations, action-choice studies, railway plan, basic design, detailed design, permit management, notifications, tender documents, operation documents, and control of construction site monitoring (BPU) for the upcoming contract.
